Adashino Nenbutsuji

Adashino Nenbutsuji is a memorial to the destitute dead, who were laid on the hillside, but not buried, between 794 and 1868.
The memorial contains over 8000 small stone buddahs,

Tori gates at Inari Shrine in southeastern Kyoto, each gate is sponsored by a busines or a family.
Some are made from timber, while others are concrete, they continue up the hillside for 4 kilometers

Japan again 2010


A day off skiing due to rain in Niseko, we took the train to Sapporo also in Hokkaido prefecture.
We rode the ferris wheel on top of Norubesa department store at the end of the day - fabulous views of the city.
